LIFE BEFORE MEN’S HEALTH
My first gig in NYC was designing the cover stories for Entertainment Weekly magazine. It was a 4 year old magazine at the time, and we were excited by the yet unrealized potential of publishing a pop culture weekly. I got to design the cover stories, and sometimes the cover. It was my first BIG JOB in the city.
After 4 years, I left EW to become the art director of Out Magazine. It was an exciting time with a high-profile founding editor, Sarah Pettit (RIP), and our mission was to make Out the Vanity Fair of the gay community. It was my first introduction to working one-on-one with celebrities, and running all aspects of an art department.
